On July 29, two year old Alexandria Hill died in Foster care.  Her death was ruled a homicide and her foster guardian is being charged with murder.  Alexandria, pictured left with her father, was removed from the custody of her parents because of their use of marijuana.

A lot of bad things happen to children in foster care.  Shouldn't that alternative be reserved for really bad situations like abuse or extreme neglect?

Alexandria's parents aren't even alleged to have smoked marijuana in front of their daughter, but rather while she was sleeping.  If the government can tear apart a family because of a young parent's marijuana use, there's something desperately wrong.
